Comfort Item for the Pandemic: Heated Towel Rack

If you are like me you love high-end hotels. Some of my fondest memories are from the now-defunct Mandarin Oriental in San Francisco, where my mother oohed and ahhed at the bath products; or the Roosevelt's rooftop pool in New Orleans. Yet one thread that many of my favorite hotels have - apart from the high thread count sheets - is the heated towel rack. I have recent memories of said towel racks at Hôtel Le Sénat in the 6th arrondissement or at The Principal in Edinburgh.
During this pandemic we are all looking for ways to pacify, placate and punch up our lives and interiors, soothe our weary souls, cleanse our mask-neyed faces and just ... breathe. Thus, buying a heated towel rack now more than ever seems just about right.
Full disclosure: I have not tried this particular brand so it is not an endorsement. But Florida-based Bathroom Butler, a company started by a South African entrepreneur, has a variety of swanky racks on offer - just finger-tiptoe over to their website - for all stripes. Just a couple of the benefits:
* You will have a snug, hot towel on hand when you emerge from the tub - whether that tub is a clawfoot or builtin, in Paris or a small apartment in Fresno;
*As their PR person told me, "Every day is a spa day: Japanese restaurants. Business class flights. Wellness spas. Heated towels have long been a luxury reserved for the occasional treat. But with a heated towel rack, you bring the luxury home. A perpetual spa day."
In addition to the aforementioned lovely towel racks, BB sells an array of accoutrements, from toilet paper roll holders to stainless steal towel rings.
